The 2011 - 17th Annual
Library Garden Tour

Will return to the Midland Public Library.

Saturday, 09 July 2011  9.00am to 4.00pm.
"Come Rain or Shine!"

11 July 2010:  After an extremely hot and humid week, the weather cooled with some much needed rain the day before - and the 16th Annual Library Garden Tour was met with sunny skies and perfect temperatures!  Visitors from all over enjoyed 15 "real gardens for real people" in Midland, Penetanguishene, Tay & Tiny Townships.

Plans for the year 2011 garden event and fundraiser for the Midland Public Library are already underway and this web site will remain here in this form throughout the rest of the year to provide an ongoing source of information.  Visitors may look forward to the updated site for the Saturday, 09 July 2011 Garden Tour to be posted towards the end of January.

Thank you once again to everyone... our wonderful host gardeners, exhibitors, sponsors, area restaurants, volunteers and visitors who helped, once again, to make this popular library garden tour such a great success!

Maple Leaf
The Friends of the Midland Public Library, Ontario, Canada warmly welcome you to the
16th Annual Library Garden Tour!

For this 16th annual tour the Library Garden Tour Committee volunteers are once again assisting the Midland Public Library with fundraising for their ambitious expansion.  The building currently occupied by the Midland Public Library was constructed in 1913 as a Federal Government building, serving as a Post Office, Customs Office, Steamship Inspection Office and Licensing facility.  It served these functions until 1967 when it was renovated and opened as a Library.

The expansion will create a more flexible, accessible and more welcoming facility that will allow people to use the resources more effectively.  Visit the Midland Library website for a glimpse of the ambitious plans and see the current progress - look for "Construction"!

Garden Tour tickets, complete with a map of all the garden locations are available at the Midland Library for $15.00 per person and after 1 July they become $20.00.

We suggest you use the ticket map to plan your own tour in advance, selecting sites that appeal to your interests.  Remember, you can start anywhere on the tour.  On the tour look for the yellow daisies that mark the route.  Please remember you must wear your ticket in each garden site.  Pets are not allowed and you are asked to make use of public facilities for washrooms and for eating areas.  Enjoy your tour and please remember to repay our generous hosts with good garden courtesy.

You may also give months of garden pleasure to someone special by purchasing gift certificates.  These are perfect for very early gift giving for holidays or for birthdays.  Gift certificates are always available at the Library.

Please phone 705 526-4216 or fax 705 526-1474 or e-mail for information and to order tickets.
